First Time Visiting

First Time Visiting

WAIVERS. WAIVERS. WAIVERS.

First thing first, have you filled out a waiver? Think you might stop by, but aren’t sure?
Go ahead and get that waiver out of the way right now.

(Participants 17 or under must have a waiver filled out by a parent or state appointed legal guardian)

If you are brand new to rock climbing, we have 3 options for you!

Option 1

Bouldering

Rock climbing without the use of ropes or harnesses. Ample padding below the bouldering area helps to lessen the likelihood of injuries from falls. This type of climbing can be more physically intensive, but an excellent way to learn techniques and movements associated with all climbing.

No Reservation Required

Orientation Time: 5 minutes

Price with equipment: $26

Age Requirement: None (under 13 years old must have adult supervision)

Option 2

Bouldering and Auto Belays

A great option for climbers without a partner. Also a great option if you would like to climb up our higher walls, but do not know how to belay. An auto belay is an automatic belay device that eliminates the need for a human belayer. The device takes the slack out of the rope as a climber ascends and will control the descent when the climber reaches the top or falls.

No Reservation Required

Orientation Time: 5-10 minutes

Price with equipment: $22-$26

Age Requirement: Must weigh at least 30lbs to use Auto Belays

Option 3

Learn the ropes! Take a class and experience it ALL!

Intro to Climbing Class

Our Intro to Climbing class will help you learn the basic skills you need to climb on a rope. You will learn the climbing basics; grading systems, beginning technique, how to fit a harness properly, how to tie in, and how to belay. After the class you will receive an all-inclusive, 2 week pass to our facility to come test out your new found climbing skills! (To learn how to belay, you will need a partner, so it may be a fun experience to share with a friend or family member).

Orientation Time: 1-1.5 Hours

Price with equipment: $45

Age Requirement: 13+

WHAT TO EXPECT.

When you arrive at EPIC Climbing and Fitness, (after you have filled out a waiver of course) one of our staff will greet you and give you a short facility orientation and explain the various types of climbing and also instruct you on how to use our auto belays.

If you already know how to tie a figure 8 knot and belay using the PBUS method, one of our staff members can test you off. Otherwise, you still have access to our multiple auto belays and ample bouldering space!

FAQs

How long should I plan for a visit?
This will depend on what type of climbing you would like to do. If you would like to just boulder and use auto belays, we recommend about 2 hours at the facility.
